Warrandyte Road and Traffic Safety Improvement Works

Frankston City Council completed traffic safety improvement works along Warrandyte Road in Langwarrin, as part of the Capital Works Program. These works are in response to recommendations of the Traffic Study report undertaken during 2017. The report was completed in consultation with the community, residents and stakeholders. These works will increase pedestrian safety along Warrandyte Road, and improve parking during peak school pickup and drop off times.

The traffic safety improvement works include:

Construction of shared Path upgrade to meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements at intersection of Warrandyte Road and access to Ebenezer Village.

Relocation of school crossing and creating a new turning lane to service road along the Elisabeth Murdoch College.

Construction of new parking lane along south bound lane of Warrandyte Road between Tyrone Street and Elana Court.

Design (Only) of new remote school crossing at Warrandyte Road - North Road intersection. The construction of this crossing is planned for financial year 2021/22 and its delivery is subject to Council receiving crossing supervisor funding via the Department of Transport (VicRoads).

The consultation carried out as part of the Traffic Study Report in 2017 has informed the designs for the works, which are due to be delivered between March and June 2021.
