Langwarrin Skate Park Stage Two

Langwarrin Skate Park Stage two 1

Frankston City Council is planning for stage two of the Langwarrin Skate Park upgrade at Lloyd Park, Langwarrin.

Funded by Council and the Australian Government, stage two proposes to upgrade the skate park so that users from beginner to advanced levels can upgrade their skills close to home and connect with others who share the same interest.

Stage one has been completed and included the construction of shelters and a drinking fountain.

Based on initial feedback from local skaters and the boarder community, Frankston City Council has developed draft concept plans for stage two and is now inviting the community to tell us what you think.

The proposed plans include:

  • More paths connecting the skate park to other recreation facilities in Lloyd Park
  • More modern and up-to-date skating features for skaters and skateboarders and scooter riders, from beginner to advanced levels, allowing them to develop their skills close to home.
  • Wider street area to allow for more skaters to join in the fun at the same time, reducing wait times.
  • Moving the bowl platform slightly south and away from existing trees to avoid impact on existing vegetation
  • An additional beginner street area to increases overall park capacity and provides a safe space for new users to learn
  • A new street tier around the bowl to improve flow and functionality.
  • Revamping the flush obstacle connections with the existing skatepark to create a cohesive park that works together seamlessly
  • New seating for users and their families to enjoy.
  • A new quarter pipe in the street section.
  • Design and colour features that pay homage to the local natural environment particularly the Melbourne Sandbelt.
