Seaford Wetlands Pedestrian and Cycling Bridge

We’re enhancing Seaford Wetlands by preserving and protecting this precious asset, while sensitively upgrading community facilities.

One of the ways we're doing this is by building this new pedestrian and cycling bridge across Kananook Creek (near the Melbourne Water pumping station on Palm Beach Drive) to ‘close the loop’ around the wetlands and reduce access to protected areas.

The 36m bridge has wooden cladding – a feature selected by the community during the Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project two-stage consultation process in 2022 and in early 2023.

The bridge will also feature lighting and CCTV cameras in the coming weeks, in accordance with safety requirements.

By late 2024, the bridge will connect to a new section of shared user path along the northern embankment of Kananook Creek (behind Palm Beach Drive). This work will be undertaken by City of Kingston in 2024. Please contact Kingston directly for details about this project (1300 653 356).

All other parts of the Seaford will be delivered by Frankston City Council.

This project is part of the $5 million Seaford Wetlands Rejuvenation Project which is funded through Victorian Government’s $315 million Suburban Parks Program.
