Frankston Planning Scheme Review

The Frankston Planning Scheme sets out policies and requirements for the use, development and protection of land within Frankston City Council.

Every four years, Council undertakes a review of the Frankston Planning Scheme. This is to make sure it is kept up-to-date and is able to respond to emerging planning issues and challenges.

The Planning Scheme Review Report was adopted at its 2 September 2019 Council Meeting and was submitted to the Minister for Planning for consideration.

The adopted Planning Scheme Review Report will be implemented through Planning Scheme Amendment C141. This Amendment is also translating Frankston’s Planning Scheme to the new Planning Policy Framework structure. At its 19 July 2021 Council Meeting, Frankston City Council resolved to support the planning authority for Amendment C141 to the Minister for Planning.

On 23 August 2021, the Minister for Planning approved Amendment C141 and was gazetted into the Frankston Planning Scheme on 10 February 2022.
