Youth2 Alliance

The Youth2 Alliance advocates for solutions to address the absence of crisis housing and support services for young homeless people in Frankston City and the Mornington Peninsula.

The Youth2 Alliance asks local, state and federal governments to work together to fund and source crisis and transitional housing support for young people aged 16 to 24 years who live in the Frankston City or Mornington Peninsula local government areas, for:

  • Crisis accommodation in both Frankston and Rosebud with the capacity to accommodate 24 young people.
  • An Education First Youth Foyer to support best practice outreach and education for 8 to 20 young people per year.

Member organisations

There are 12 organisations which form the Youth2 Alliance, including:

The Youth2 Alliance also involves young people and community member in developing its advocacy position.

The Youth2 Alliance draws attention to the findings and recommendations relating to young people from the Victorian Parliament’s Legislative Legal and Social Issues Standing Committee’s Inquiry into Homelessness in Victoria.

TAC L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program

L2P Driving The TAC L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program is a community based program providing on-road driving experience to Learner Drivers who would otherwise find it difficult to gain the minimum 120 hours driving required to apply for a Victorian Probationary licence. Following the four stages of the Graduated Licencing System, the program focuses on helping young people become safe confident drivers, in an effort to reduce Victoria’s road toll. It also provides an opportunity for young people to interact with positive adult role models, gain confidence and move towards social independence.

The TAC L2P Program is funded by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and the Department of Transport (DoT), supported by the Victorian Government and coordinated by Frankston City Council

With the assistance of volunteer mentor driving supervisors, Council provides this program in Frankston City for young people who may otherwise have no access to a supervising driver or vehicle. This is a free service for eligible young people to help them gain the necessary skills to obtain their Probationary Licence.

Who is Eligible for TAC L2P Program

To be eligible for the TAC L2P Program, Learners must:

What the TAC L2P Program can do for you
