Seaford Foreshore Fencing Renewal Project upgrade details

About the project

Harsh coastal conditions, strong winds, shifting sands and salt corrosion have caused the existing fencing to deteriorate, also resulting in unauthorised access to sensitive areas.

Key features

The new fencing is designed to reduce erosion and promote the regeneration of coastal dune systems. It’s made from long-lasting timber, and is plastic-free, providing further environmental benefits.

Timing

Works will be staged from early July 2023 until October / November 2023 to reduce impacts as much as possible and work will be undertaken between 7:30am and 5:00pm on weekdays.

Pedestrian traffic flow changes and car parking

To ensure public safety during construction of the new fence, access to some sections of the Keast Park trails and Track 22 opposite to Victor Avenue, Seaford will be temporarily closed off to pedestrians.  Wherever possible, access for horse riders within permitted times will be retained. However, short-term closures may be required for safety reasons. Access to the carpark remains open at all times. Signage will remain in place throughout the works to help pedestrians safely navigate these changes.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to protect our beautiful coastal areas for current and future generations to enjoy.
