Exhibition of Cultural Costumes
The nationally celebrated Harmony Day is an opportunity to promote and celebrate Frankston City Council’s rich cultural diversity, while providing the opportunity to improve the wider community’s awareness of Frankston’s evolving diversity. With the assistance of Council’s CALD Network, Harmony Day celebrations will directly reflect the Network’s participation and collaboration in promoting a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for all in Frankston City.
Frankston City Council is hosting a community event, Exhibition of Cultural Costumes, from 20-26 March at Karingal PLACE Community Centre.
The purpose of the event is to connect, engage and educate members of the community through cultural costume. This exhibition will provide a range of costumes that represent the top 10 languages spoken at home (specific to Frankston City) other than English. These include Mandarin, Greek, Filipino, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Malayalam, Arabic, German and Hindi.
There will be an activity for children and an opportunity to tell us where your ancestry derives from. Along with an opportunity to learn more about the cultural diversity that exists in Frankston City.
