Join us from 11am to 12.30pm on Saturday 24 August for a sneak peek behind the construction fence at Ballam Park bio-retention system and lake, and to celebrate the opening of the recently upgraded play space. Enjoy a free sausage sizzle near the Naranga Crescent entrance and take a stroll around the lake and learn about bioretention system which naturally treats stormwater before it enters Port Phillip Bay, and the new community amenities. After the event, gates will go back up until October so we can put the finishing touches on the project, including landscaping. While you’re there, take the kids and head down to the play space at the southern end of the reserve to check out the new additions to the play area. We love the new leaf design cubby, climbing ropes and more! The lake and biorientation system are funded by Council through the Victorian Government’s Community Infrastructure Loan Scheme and Melbourne Water, and the play space upgrade is funded by Council through the Victorian Government’s Community Infrastructure Loan Scheme.
