Disability Access and Inclusion Committee
The Disability Access and Inclusion Committee (DAIC) have been operating at Council since 1988. The role of the DAIC is to promote disability access and inclusion as outlined in Council’s Disability Action Plan by providing feedback and practical advice on Council projects and services.
The committee comprises 8 community members with lived experience of disability and 4 representatives from local disability services. A Councillor representative and Council Officers also attend meetings.
The DAIC meet 8 times per year, with additional, optional opportunities offered to members, such as:
- personal development training
- feedback surveys
- site visits and participation in forums.

What is the Disability Access and Inclusion Committee?
The Disability Access and Inclusion Committee (DAIC or the Committee) provides advice to Frankston City Council (Council) on issues relating to access and inclusion for people with disabilities, families and carers of people with disabilities, living, working in or visiting Frankston City.
Council established its first Disability Advisory Committee in 1988, and many people with various interests and skills have worked together since then to advise Council to improve access and inclusion in Frankston City.
The role of the Committee is:
a) To provide advocacy and advice on issues, projects and plans to enhance the access, participation and inclusion of people with a disability in Frankston City; and
b) To support Council in achieving the goals outlined in the Disability Action Plan 2021-2025.

DAIC Recruitment Timeline:
- Applications must be submitted by 9am Monday 26 June
- 26 June - 17 July: The Recruitment panel will review applications and if required may hold interviews.
- All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 18 July
- The first meeting of the new Committee will be held on Tuesday 8 August.
